“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” This phrase certainly can fit in with our current predicament. As we prepare to enter training to serve as foreign missionaries, we have to let go of many “treasures.” Some of these “treasures” include our sofa, recliner, bunk beds, beddings, shelves, towels, kitchenware and yes even our trashcan. These household items have “served their purpose,” as my sister Emma would say. Now it’s time to give freely!
I received a text from my mom, “Save the trashcan for Grandma!” That’s exactly what we did! What a joy it has been to offer our belongings to others. Yes, even a trashcan can be a treasure! My Grandma deserves so much more than just a trashcan (since her current one is broken.) Don’t worry! We also are gifting her our Fiesta dishes, to include dinner plates, dessert plates, mugs and saucers.

What a gift it has been to give freely to others. It comes with a feeling of being free of attachment to one’s worldly stuff. We pray for all those who have accepted items from our home and we also pray that they are blessed by them.
